Google HTML/CSS Style Guide

Google has posted a great blog on recommended HTML and CSS styles for coding a website. I know on old sites it is just about impossible to go back and recode a site to conform to the new suggested rules, but it is a very good reference for when building a new a website.

Here is the reference url.

SSL Pulse Websites Reports 90% of Web Vulnerable

Ninety percent of the Internet's top 200,000 HTTPS-enabled websites are vulnerable to known types of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) attack, according to a report released Thursday by the Trustworthy Internet Movement (TIM), a nonprofit organization dedicated to solving Internet security, privacy and reliability problems. Reporting Website

Some us go to digging and found out this has been know for years. One webhost rsponded to the threat "It's an attack that has been documented on some level for about ten years. The fix on that site does not appear to work as advertised, or the scanner is not detecting things properly, as even when applied it does not say the vulnerability is solved."

So hmm I scanned my site www.keysupplements.com and passed all threats so there is a fix. I have to wonder who is right. If you want to test the site your buying from just go to the above link and add the website address.

Google Anti-Spam Update

The SEO Conference was really good

The SEO conference I held was an eye opener for me. The information was good the questions were good but I could sense it wasn't enough. I have been doing this for over 13 years now and many things I take for granted need to be explained. It's like riding a bike if you've been doing it for some time you forget the little things that keep you from busting your butt. After it was over I asked some people what they would feel more comfortable with. With those questions I have decided to end the conference's and do private training. This allows more questions more teaching, and enables me to see the webiste get positive results from the training. I have had several private training sessions and all I can say it was sooooo much better. If your interested please use my contact form and I will contact you on scheduling a time. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Intresting launch of a new website schema.org

Been a long time since I have seen all the SE's working together on a project, schema.org. This is an effort to "micro-format" your data on a webpage that webmasters can use to markup their pages in ways recognized by major search providers.
On-page markup enables search engines to understand the information on web pages and provide richer search results in order to make it easier for users to find relevant information on the web. Markup can also enable new tools and applications that make use of the structure.
I have been studing this in some length and can see many advantages this can add to a webpage. The work to get this implemented is a long road for many of us, but it does look like in the years to come it would be worth the time and effort.
More on this latter it is getting late and need to relax.
